More to the point, though, is how would your suggestions play out? Appearing before the Diet doesn't seem very logical to me. He would still be attacked by his enemies, and no-one would believe that he is showing contrition. The new polls would say 80% of the public found his appearance unsatisfying. It's like asking what Saddam Hussein should have done to avoid war with the US. Even suicide wouldn't have been sufficient.<br /><br />Anyway, Ozawa's problems stem from the fact that he is threatening some powerful interests.
